ESC/EAS focused update on dyslipidaemia management (2025)
Status Current
The 2025 focused update to the European dyslipidaemia guidance. It predates any CETP approval, so the class appears as pipeline rather than practice; its relevance here is the treatment thresholds and combination-therapy logic that an approved oral add-on would slot into.
Read alongside the 2019 parent document. The practical question for CETP inhibition is not whether it is recommended today, which it is not, but where an oral agent giving roughly 40% LDL-C lowering on top of a statin would sit in the escalation sequence relative to ezetimibe, bempedoic acid and the PCSK9 pathway.
